Updated: 4 days ago

MILWAUKEE — Nov. 20, 2024— Lead2Change is proud to announce that it has received a grant from the NBA Foundation to support its Dream.Explore.Build. (D.E.B.) program. This funding will allow Lead2Change to provide local high school students, especially those from underserved communities, with greater access to career exploration, paid career-focused internships, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities.

“We are thrilled and deeply grateful to be the recipient of the NBA Foundation grant, which will allow Lead2Change to strengthen our commitment to preparing young people for success in their careers,” said Dionne Grayson, Executive Director of Lead2Change.“Through our new partnership with the NBA Foundation, we are providing students—particularly students of color—with the skills, professional networks, and leadership opportunities to succeed in the global workforce. This support enables us to empower the next generation to take on leadership roles and create lasting change in their communities and beyond.”

“We’re excited to work with Lead2Change on providing young students in Milwaukee the opportunity to pursue their career passions and interests,” said Ruth Jurgensen, Executive Director of the NBA Foundation. “We hope that this grant serves as a resource for advancing career readiness for the students in the D.E.B. program.”

Since 2011, Lead2Change has guided over 1,000 students through Dream.Explore.Build., offering 300 hours of hands-on learning. The program includes interactive workshops and career-focused internships, equipping students with the skills needed for success in their future careers.

With the NBA Foundation’s support, Lead2Change is committed to deepening the impact for young people, shaping their futures and paving the way for meaningful contributions well beyond the classroom.
